Workplace Wellness: Malathi’s Story

Employee Testimonial: Malathi

“I am a very picky eater so I choose to eat at home often. When the CAPC launched their Healthy Eating Challenge in March, I was inspired to add more vegetables, fresh fruits, and healthy alternatives to my meals.  I believed I was eating correct portions of fruits, vegetables and grains on a daily basis, but when I entered the numbers, the data shocked me. What I was eating wasn’t sufficient at all. I also walk every day and drink water. I thought I was doing everything right! When I entered the numbers, I saw that I wasn’t walking enough or drinking enough water. So instead of getting discouraged, I embraced the new knowledge. Because of the CAPC’s WPW program, I am back on track (Correctly this time!).  This challenge gave me an opportunity to add brisk exercises into my schedule. I added more servings of fruits and veggies to my diet and took advantage of the recipes shared by CAPC staff . What a great way to try new foods! Everyone should be participating in the healthy challenge and be inspired to make changes to your diet and exercise routines. Also, I won and was rewarded with a gift card! That was amazing. Thanks Marketing team for putting this challenge out there for CAPC!”
